Sea Tow Boating Safety and Education Foundation
Established in 2008, the Sea Tow Boating Safety and Education Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that utilizes Sea Tow’s professional resources to provide the boating public with unique, high-quality boating safety and educational programs. It is through these programs that the Foundation aims to reduce the number of preventable recreational boating accidents and fatalities that occur each year.
With initiatives that complement and enhance programs currently offered by the U.S. Power Squadrons, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and other boating safety organizations, the Foundation’s initiatives fill the void for national, standardized, boating safety programs and activities.
The Foundation works in tandem with the Boater Education Steering Committee, which is committed to identifying a minimum level of NASBLA-approved boater education that can be implemented and enforced on a national scale. The Committee was formed in September 2007 as a result
of the industry’s first Boater Education Roundtable discussion, which included key representatives from the U.S. Coast Guard, NASBLA, the NMMA, the MRAA, Brunswick Corporation and INAMAR.
