Meet Tom Verdock …
We’d like to introduce you to Tom Verdock, the owner of Tom’s Marine, Bait & Tackle shop and Evinrude/Johnson dealer in Derby, Conn. He’s the first Sea Tow™ member to take advantage of our exclusive member services: Sea Loans™ and Sea Insure™.

SN: What made you inquire about Sea Loans and Sea Insure?
Well, my wife and I had been mulling over the idea of a new boat for the past couple years. Captain Karl Sieling [owner of Sea Tow Candlewood Lake] came into our shop and encouraged me to call. So I inquired with Sea Loans and was approved over the phone that same day.

We ordered a 2007 23-foot Hydra-Sports and put a 200 hp Evinrude E-TEC on it. I waited to call Sea Insure until the boat came in so that I could get the serial numbers off it.

SN: How did they compare to other options out there?
To be honest, I didn’t shop around. I’ve never had insurance on my boat. My old one was 17 years old. But, this time we decided it was important to have, especially since we go out on the [Long Island] Sound a lot.

SN: Have you been happy with the services?
So far it’s been perfect. Everything went smoothly. I got my check from Sea Loans before the boat was even delivered. Both Sea Loans and Sea Insure worked wonderfully together. I hardly had to do anything except sign my name.  And, when the boat finally was delivered, we had both the loan and insurance in place within two days. They did a great job!
