The Sea Tow Foundation has nearly 200 Life Jacket Loaner Stands established around the country, including more than eight locations in the South Shore area. Sea Tow Foundation Life Jacket Loaner Stands are located in popular boating areas and allow boaters who need an extra life jacket or a properly fitting PFD to borrow one, or more, free of charge, to take onboard with them. The Sea Tow Foundation’s Life Jacket Loaner Program is funded through donations, as well as by a grant from the Sport Fish Restoration & Boating Trust Fund, which is administered by the U.S. Coast Guard.
“This donation by the Coast Guard Auxiliary will help ensure that boaters around the South Shore area will be safer on the water,” said Captain Ethan Maass, owner of Sea Tow South Shore. “The Sea Tow Foundation has been able to provide over 22,000 life jackets to recreational boaters since 2008 thanks to generous groups like the Coast Guard Auxiliary.”
