Captain John Ward is the new owner of the Charlotte, N.C. area Sea Tow, covering boaters that breakdown, run out of gas, or need help on Lake Norman and Lake Wylie.
He brings to the business more than 12 years of experience as a captain and also runs leading Sea Tow operations in Destin and Pensacola, Florida. Now, on Lake Norman and Lake Wylie he will lead a team which includes several other Sea Tow Captains, utilizing seven distinctive yellow Sea Tow boats. Captain Ward will also provide on-the-water services to Sea Tow members on Mountain Island Lake.

Ward is an award-winning Captain. He received the 2009 Franchise of the Year Award from Sea Tow International, and has also placed 1st in the nation for membership growth in 2009 and 2013.

Captain Ward has loved the water his whole life and it has been a career captain for over 20 years. At age 18, Ward joined the United States Coast Guard and was enlisted for 10 years. Then, in 2004 he purchased his first Sea Tow franchise in Pensacola, Florida.
