Do more with Plotter Sync!
The Plotter Sync feature in the Navionics Boating app lets you connect with your chartplotter via Wi-Fi to transfer routes and markers, update charts and more. These wireless capabilities make it convenient and easy to manage your data while on the boat, without having to remove your card and pop it into your computer at home.
We recommended that you update your mobile charts before syncing, because they will overwrite the charts on your plotter card regardless of which are more current. It’s very easy to do, by choosing Menu>Download Map or Menu>Update all.
To get started with Plotter Sync, just tap Menu>Connect a device. You’ll find the basic steps on how to connect any compatible model from Raymarine, Lowrance, Simrad or B&G. More detailed info is included within the app’s Help menu under Menu>Help>Menu>Connect a device.
You can choose to Update Charts, Transfer Routes & Markers, or both. Raymarine users can also Upload Sonar Logs without an active subscription. Find these options in Menu>Device connected, then tap the cog icon.
When updating charts, the Nautical Chart, SonarChart and Community Edits that you have already downloaded on your Boating app will transfer to your Navionics card in any overlapping coverage area. The size of the area will affect total sync time.
Transferring routes and markers makes it easy to plan your boating trips on your mobile device from anywhere, and see them conveniently on your plotter while underway. Likewise, you can share your traveled routes and important markers to your mobile!
Plotter Sync can also be used to activate a subscription on your Navionics plotter card or start downloading charts to an active card.
- Your Boating app must have an active Navionics+ subscription.
- Your Navionics card must have an active chart updates subscription, or be a new card that’s ready to activate.
- The coverage areas for the above must overlap.
- Your plotter must be updated to the latest software version for best results.
