Navionics Boating – Get hooked on Advanced Map Options!

Customize your view!

Whether you are cruising, sailing or fishing, you may want to focus in on specific features of your map, particularly depth and bottom contours. With Advanced Map Options, you have a lot of flexibility.

If you don’t already have Navionics Boating, download the free app for iPhone, iPad or Android phone and tablet to get a two-week trial that includes Advanced Map Options.

On the app, just tap Menu>Map Options. From there, you can highlight shallow areas, making it easier to avoid damaging your prop and to target shallow water fish like redfish, trout or striped bass.

Adjustable depth shading adds color, from dark blue shallows to deeper areas shown in white, to better differentiate varying depths. This can be helpful when following channels or looking for structure to fish.

You can also adjust the bathymetry lines in two ways. Display depth contours only to your desired depth, leaving out deeper spots that may not be of interest. And, in areas where depth changes are steep, you can reduce the contour density. If you are targeting suspended fish, turn on fishing mode to highlight a specific depth range. On lakes or reservoirs, adjust the water level to reflect current conditions.

Try Advanced Map Options on your mobile. It’s also available when using Navionics cards on a variety of compatible chartplotters. Learn more here.
