The National Safe Boating Council – at its annual International Boating & Water Safety Summit in Lexington, Kentucky last month – honored the Sea Tow Foundation as 1st Place Winners for Education in its yearly Media Campaign Contest.
The Education Award is given annually to the organization best exhibiting “exceptional efforts to educate the public about boating and water safety.” The Foundation’s winning entry was for its Life Jacket Loaner Station Tents at boat shows throughout the country.
“The judges were inspired by all of the innovative and original entries received for the media campaign contest,” a spokesperson for the NSBC said. “This year’s award winners have done a remarkable job of developing communications to promote boating and water safety throughout the country.”
Other awards were handed out for categories such as Audio PSAs, Booklets and Brochures, Electronic Education, Posters and Signs, Giveaways and Handouts, and Video PSAs.
“We are so honored to be chosen among so many great organizations that do so many amazing things for the world of boating,” said Gail R. Kulp, Executive Director of the Sea Tow Foundation. “Our goal as an organization is to help educate boaters all over the United States and beyond about the importance of water safety, so being selected as 1st Place Winners is a huge validation of all the hard work we’ve put in.”To learn more about the Sea Tow Foundation and its many educational outreach programs, visit www.boatingsafety.com.
