The Face Behind the Phone

 

If you have ever called Sea Tow’s Customer Care Team, there’s a chance that Noel Flores was on the other end. In his time, he’s handled a wide spectrum of calls – from those who need on-water assistance, to those who are wondering where to find a Sea Tow Foundation Life Jacket Loaner Stand. Want to get to know him a little better? Read on!

Question: How long have you been part of the Sea Tow Customer Care Team?

Noel: I have been with Sea Tow for 6 years. 

Question: Tell us about one of your most memorable calls?

Noel: I received an assistance call from a member who was broken down. All ended up being OK, but she was panicked because it appeared to her that a cruise ship was heading straight towards her and she needed to get out of the way. She was terrified and would not stop screaming. I worked with her to take a couple of deep breaths and calm down.  We were then able to determine that the cruise ship was in fact a significant distance away. Sea Tow showed up on scene with ample time to spare.

Question:
What’s your favorite part of the job? 

Noel: My favorite part of the job is coming into work and seeing all my colleagues, which have become great friends. Thanks to Sea Tow, I have made real lifelong relationships. 

Question: Tell us about something that you have learned or has happened that was unexpected.

Noel: The COVID-19 outbreak was definitely unexpected. We are all working remotely instead of in our call center and it’s been extremely effective. As much as I like working from home, I am ready to get back into the office ASAP.

Question: Describe your job in one word. 

Noel: Fast-paced.
