Our Team

Capt. Alex Peyreigne - Owner/Captain

Although he is youngest franchisee across the Sea Tow network, Capt. Alex is eager to carve his own path as owner and head captain of Sea Tow Central Chesapeake. A graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Capt. Alex has all the tools to continue to build upon the strong foundation that was already in place when he first took to the captain’s chair in 2018.

In his free time, Capt. Alex enjoys being out on the water, fishing, going on walks, playing lacrosse and, most importantly, helping people.

Capt. Bart Jaeger - Captain

Captain Bart grew up in Crofton, Maryland and is a graduate of Washington College where he majored in biology and environmental studies. Captain Bart has been a U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Captain since 1999 and works full-time as a Captain for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation leading environmental education programs and marine field trips for children. He has spent his entire life on and around the bay and enjoys hunting, fishing and crabbing when not at work. Bart and his wife, Claire, just had their first child named Elsie in the spring of 2011. Captain Bart says he enjoys assisting his fellow mariners and calls his time with Sea Tow "a rewarding continuation of his maritime career". Captain Bart runs our boat at Kent Narrows and has been with Sea Tow since 2004.

Capt. Iver Franzen - Captain

Captain Iver Franzen's 40-year maritime career has included work both as a Captain and naval architect. Iver became a licensed Captain in 1980, and now holds a 500 GRT Master's License with endorsement for aux sail and a 1600 GRT for OSV's. After earning his BA in 1974 and working as a professional ski patrolman and mountain SAR coordinator, he worked many years as a charter and delivery Captain, and many more as a commercial Captain throughout the East Coast and Caribbean. Captain Iver has worked in naval architecture since 1988 and has been involved in numerous projects such as "Pride of Baltimore II" and "USS Constitution." Iver now shares his knowledge and experience as a consultant, lecturer and writer, and is proud to continue his Captain career with Sea Tow.
