Using the Sea Tow Automated Radio Check system is a great way to ensure that your VHF radio is functioning properly and ready for a day out on the water.
Our automated system will play a message to let you know where the antenna is located and will then play back your recorded radio check message. You will be able to hear whether or not your message was clear and assess your signal strength. Try it out today if you haven’t already.
Boater Education classes are available in our area through the US Power Squadron and the Coast Guard Auxiliary.

While Sea Tow is a proponent of having a working VHF radio on board your boat, your cell phone can be a good back up. In an emergency situation your VHF radio is your best tool for alerting fellow boaters and emergency responders. However, for non-emergency assistance from Sea Tow you can not only call us via VHF radio, but if you are an iPhone or Android phone user, you can now use the Sea Tow App. Plus, our app gives you access to tides and weather information.
Mike Kern - Owner/Captain
Capt. Mike was raised in Galveston, Texas where he spent most of his time water skiing and fishing. He comes from a long line of merchant mariners. Capt. Mike was previously a SWAT officer in Texas City, Texas for several years before returning to his family's maritime roots. His on water expertise include working on harbor tugs out of the Houston/Galveston area.
Our Twin Vee is a 26 foot power catamaran with twin Suzuki DF150 outboards. This vessel was the second addition to our fleet, and is the work horse as well as the flagship of our fleet. The vessel is named in honor of Captain Mike's late grandfather who was an unlimited captain and harbor pilot.
Our Pro Kat is a 23 foot power catamaran with twin Suzuki DF140 outboards. It was the first addition to our fleet and has been a huge part of our success on the Highland Lakes. The Vessel is named after Captain Mike's wife, Danna Lynn Kern.
The Fountain is the newest addition to our fleet and is in the process of becoming a Sea Tow boat. The vessel is a 31 foot deep-v hull, with twin Suzuki DF250 outboard motors. We are very excited about this vessel and are looking forward to having it completed.
The Impact is an ex-police boat that is powered by a single 225 Mercury outboard.
