Our Team

Mike DeGenaro - Owner/Captain
Capt. Mike comes from a family of commercial fisherman and grew up running lobster boats on Long Island Sound. After spending some time working in commercial towing, Mike decided to relocate to Florida in 2004. After further experience in commercial towing in Florida, Mike purchased Sea Tow Charlotte Harbor in March 2005. Capt. Mike holds a 50 ton Master license, is Haz-Mat certified and a PADI diver. Mike is also a member of Punta Gorda Boaters Alliance.

Marcus Shore - Operations Manger/Captain
Marcus has been with Sea Tow Charlotte Harbor for three years. He has spent the last 25 years boating on charlotte harbor and surrounding waters. Marcus holds a 50 Ton Master License with Towing Endorsement, PADI open water dive certification, First Aid, CPR, and 40 hour Hazmat Certification. Rarely will you find Capt. Marc not accompanied by his dog "Jake", who often assists with grounded vessels.

Ricky Burg - Sales & Marketing/Captain
Captain Rick has over 40 years of on-water experience and 10 years in SW Florida. Rick was first licensed as a USCG Captain in 1986 and currently holds a 100 Gross Ton Master License with a Towing Endorsement, licensed Marine Radio Operator, Certified NAUI Open Water diver, 40 hour Hazmat Certification, First Aid, CPR. Originally from the north east, Captain Rick spent many years charter fishing the deep offshore canyons. He still operates a local back water fishing charter business.

David Nielsen - Dispatcher
David has been boating since he was a member of the BOY SCOUTS. He is a certified safe boating instructor, vessel examiner and active member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Englewood, FLA and U.S. Power Squadron, Punta Gorda FLA. In his spare time he writes a boating safety column for WATERLINE, a weekly boating and fishing magazine of the Sun Newspapers

Mitchell Smith - Captain
Captain Mitch holds a 50 Gross Ton Master USCG License with a Towing Endorsement, First Aid, and CPR Certified. He grew up in Charlotte County and graduated from Lemon Bay High School. Mitch has been boating and fishing his whole life in Charlotte Harbor and the surrounding area. When he’s not on the water for Sea Tow, he operates a local charter fishing business. Previously, Mitch was second captain on the Viking Gulf Star.

Randy Hassinger - Senior Captain
Captain Randy hailing from Ohio he has spent days boating and fishing on the great lakes and continues to be an avid fisherman to this day. Captain Randy is our senior captain holding a 100 Ton Master License with Towing Endorsement for over 15 years, and our local expert on the many hidden sandbars and un-marked cuts through Charlotte Harbor and Gasparilla sound.

Lauren Campbell - Dispatcher
Lauren has recently moved to Southwest Florida from Long Island, NY. She spent the majority of her childhood growing up on the water surfing, sailing, diving and fishing. In 2011, Lauren graduated from Dowling College with a bachelor’s degree in English. She then moved to Tortola, British Virgin Islands where she worked as a first mate aboard the sailing charter catamaran “Kuralu”. Lauren is US Coast Guard STCW-95 certified, a PADI SCUBA diver, and CPR and first aid certified. For the past two years, Lauren has been delivering sailboats around the Caribbean islands and has now acquired more than 5,000 sea miles.

Captain Kevin Hippchen – Captain
Capt. Kevin spent five years in the US Navy as an Assault Boat Coxswain. After serving in Operation Desert Storm, Kevin relocated to Florida to attend college. He holds a 50 Gross Ton Masters with a Towing Endorsement, NAUI Open Water Certified Diver, and First Aid & CPR Certified. Kevin owns and operates a commercial pool business in Charlotte County since 2000.

Our Boats

Monsoon - 24' Willard

Monsoon is a fully equipped and ready to perform all towing, ungrounding, jump starts, fuel drops, crew boat work, survey work, and assisting in search and rescue operations. This 1991 Willard had a complete rebuild in 2014 and is located at Gasparilla Marina.

Sea Tow 20 - 26' Shamrock

Sea Tow 20 is fully equipped and ready to perform all towing, ungrounding, jump stars, fuel drops, crew boat work, survey work, and assisting in search and rescue operations. This 1984 Shamrock is located at Burnt Store Marina.

 

 

Sea Tow 36 - 26' Sea Cat

Sea Tow 36 is fully equipped and ready to perform all towing, ungrounding, jump stars, fuel drops, crew boat work, survey work, and assisting in search and rescue operations. This 1994 Sea Cat is a inshore and offshore boat and is located at Gulf Coast Marine Center.

 

 

 

Typhoon - 24' Willard

Typhoon is fully equipped and ready to perform all towing, ungrounding, jump stars, fuel drops, crew boat work, survey work, and assisting in search and rescue operations. This 1991 Willard had a complete rebuild in 2012 and is located at Laishley Park Municipal Marina.
